Need some new kicks

I think these Wonder Woman high tops will do. They are super limited and selling overseas. Which is a bummer. The site Schuh is carrying them, but for just over $106 ( acutally 64.99 in GBP) This is totally baffling to me since Wonder Woman is an America hero. Sure she's an Amazon and champion for all women, but still think we should get first dibs. And by "we" I mean me.

Passages - An Interactive Installation

Last weekend Dick installed a show at the Salisbury University Electronic Gallery. The artists drove a ridiculously long way to set up the show, and we all went out to eat and hung out the night before installation. They are amazing people that I'm glad to have met and so happy they wanted to be a part of our gallery. I've written about the gallery before, but to reiterate, "[Its] mission is to serve as an educational environment for students and professors in all areas of the University. The Electronic Gallery will host screenings, lectures, discussions, interviews, visiting artists, exhibitions of interactive and computer-generated media, in addition to performance, installation, and multimedia collaborations. We welcome your input as we begin our investigations into contemporary art and culture." They have hosted artist like Hasan Elahi, seen here on the Stephen Colbert Show

The show that just opened is called Passages. "We carry with us places that have meaning. We construct meaning through memory, place, and time, creating personal metaphors and imaginary worlds. While the places we carry with us may be real and solid, as time passes they change, and our image of them becomes an intimate, illusory space. We can no longer visit these places except in our memory."

One of the other artists, Robmat Butler, actually has his own Etsy shop. He makes snowglobes and I got to see this one, called "Garden" up close and personal. It's part of series called "Parables".

I love them. You should buy one. Barron Hall is another one of the artist in the show. Both guys are great friends and artists. Check out Barron's site, click on Art Team and listen to their theme song ^_^ I enjoy they're company. Stacey Stormes and Emily Wally rounded out the group and their pieces are amazing. I'll take some pictures of the space this week. They are coming back for a closing reception and lecture, so more pictures to come then! I can't wait to see them all again.

Monster Mash Monday

I love kawaii (cute) Japanese things and sketched some little monsters the other day and had to make them into buttons. Teen Wolf is my favorite!

Also, we just got listed on AllThingsKawaii.net and it's been boost for the shop! We're under Shopping > Accessories. I'm doing some restructuring and little business planning, so expect some new stuff from the shop soon!

Mini Necklace Tutorial

Remember that tutorial I featured about making a layered knit necklace out of a recycled tshirt? Well I wanted to wear something white the other day and that particular necklace was too much, with it being in the 90s and all. So I took three of the strands out, cut them and braided them together. It was perfect.

I kind of love it. I also used the same idea, of cutting the strands, and made a couple of kickass necklaces by finger weaving them. I had pictures, but they turned out waaaay too dark, so I'll put a thing about that later.

Anyway, I guess the point of it all is that you can revamp your wardrobe and accessories with just some simple diy. It's not much, and it's not complicated, but I think it's cute ^_^

I need a reason to own this.

So I know that Olivia Munn swears by her Flip and I just saw a quick video that Alison Haislip took of herself and Kevin Pereira in London. The quality was amazing and in the mirror it just looked like a camera...I asked Dick what it was and he told me it was the Flip. Then I went to the site and saw this.
Dear Lord. It's soooooo cute! I don't know what I'd film. Probably just some really lame stuff that no one cares about or will ever watch, but it'll look great and I'll look super kawaii making it.
On that same note...there's this...
Yeah. That just happened. Two of my favorite things in the galaxy put together into one amazinglyridiculouscutesuperfuntime. Methinks that Hello Boba will be on myself permanently in the very near future.

You're Welcome

I love Karate Kid so hard. I found this ad when I was going through some old comics to make buttons and I had to scan it. This is needs to preserved for our future generations. Also, like most cheesy couples, Dick and I have a song. Ours is the song "Glory of Love" from Karate Kid 2. We are such geeks! If you forget how awesome it is, here's New Found Glory's cover it:
